September 30, 2018 - Brunch at Butter Valley Airport

A bunch of us from the Skypark were flying to breakfast/lunch this morning at Butter Valley Golf Port Airport (7N8) up in Pennsylvania.  I've been there a couple of times but not in years.  It is just five miles or so north of Pottstown.

Here I am flying off Tom's Maule.  It was an excellent day to fly:  warm, sunny, light winds, good vis.

Safe on deck at Butter Valley which might best be described as a golf course with a runway in the middle of it.  And of course, every golf course has a 19th hole restaurant/bar so that's where we had brunch.   That's Ron's C-152 to the left of my RV.

Walking past a green to the 19th hole.

Our destination:  the Runway Grill at Butter Valley.

After a delicious breakfast, we walked back to the grass ramp.  When I first arrived overhead and saw all these planes on the ramp, I thought "man, this place is busy!"

But it turns out that all the non-Essex Skypark planes were grass queens; i.e., just tied down and don't fly much, if ever.

Ron preflights with a fairway in the distance.

We had flown down in a loose gaggle but going back we all went at our own speeds.

Here, I'm flying over the beautiful Pennsylvania countryside.
